The people of the Middle Sepik have very little, but are a happy and loving people. With the men fishing and hunting and the women taking care of the pigs and crops, the children are very independent. The young take care of the younger, spending much of their time swimming in the estuaries of the mighty Sepik River in order to keep cool. The stifling heat makes clothing unnecessary, with only the Christian converts making an effort to cover themselves.
Order PrintsPNG is a snapshot in time, with the tribes of the Highlands seeing outsiders for the first time in 1930.
